First of all VAR and these microscopic offside calls have completely ruined the dopamine hit of a goal. You used to scream your lungs out the second the ball hit the net but now you have to sit there like an idiot for three minutes watching a guy in a booth draw lines on a screen. By the time they confirm it the moment is dead. You cannot even celebrate properly because you are constantly waiting for some technicality to ruin the fun.
Then you look at the actual players. These Gen Z kids care more about their brand deals and keeping their broccoli hair perms perfect than actually winning a tackle.
Back in the day players would die for the badge but now they just look like they are waiting for the match to end so they can film a TikTok or post a fit check on Instagram. They have zero competitive fire and look like they are playing at 60 percent intensity just to avoid getting a scratch on their designer skin.
