Reading books doesn't make you smart.

Just because you read 50 books a year doesn't mean you are educated. If you are only reading self-help trash or repetitive fantasy novels you are just a consumer with a superiority complex. Browsing posts is better than reading a bad book.

True. Non-fiction books have depth about something, but also, they could be propaganda or written horribly. I prefer the relevant chapters, fuck the whole book

And now, the age is upon us where I can have that book or chapter distilled to any number of pages less than the original

138.199 is right. You absolutely should go and read a book. Go find something you like. Something you actually enjoy reading.

and fyi: I've 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓, 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 thought that (or acted like) reading books makes me, or anyone else for that matter, smarter, let alone 𝑒𝑑𝑢𝑐𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑑, but it sure does something to your brain. Something 𝑔𝑜𝑜𝑑.
